However, I can assure you that TKTX tattoo cream is now a highly refined product; using it beforehand will not negatively affect the tattoo.
That said, I strongly recommend discussing this with your tattoo artist first, as some artists are opposed to the use of numbing creams. You can also discuss the tattooing process and the expected duration with them to help you decide whether to use the product.

Painkillers wise, anything good enough is going to make you too out of it to sit well , and any numbing cream will wear away after 2/4 hours.

If you artist is blasting in the ink, ask them to go lighter and do two passovers. if you’re making it for the first two hours fine , your central nervous system is getting overwhelmed after and unable to compensate. your natural response to pain is releasing dopamine and serotonin to deal with it. if your body is running out early , you should try and take it easy the few days before hand to recharge.
